When dealing with electrical issues, one of the most overlooked components is the wiring connector itself. Many times, customers rush to replace full wiring harnesses when the real problem lies in a faulty or corroded connector.
Here’s what to look for before replacing an entire harness:

1. Check for corrosion:
Look inside the connector for any signs of green or white powder buildup. This corrosion can interrupt current flow.
2. Inspect pin alignment:
Bent or pushed-back pins can cause intermittent issues and sensor malfunctions.
3. Test continuity:
Use a multimeter to check for continuity between both ends of the connector before replacing other parts.
4. Heat damage:
Overheating connectors can melt plastic housings or shrink protective sheathing—both can cause shorts.
